Settlers Visa "Nikkei 3" category

There is no specific category for foreign nationals (applicants) who are third-generation Japanese.
However, when renewing a visa, the documents required differ depending on whether it is the first time or the second time onwards, and also depend on the applicant's income situation.

  1. 1. Documents issued by your city/ward/town/village office (all of the following)

      *① to ④ are to be submitted only if notification has been filed with a Japanese government office.

  2. 2. Proof of living expenses in Japan
    (1) When the applicant prove by him / herself
    1. ① Certificate of bank balance (in the applicant's name)
    2. ② 1 copy of employment plan certificate or employment offer letter (issued by a Japanese company)
    (2) When the sponsoring expenses payer is in Japan on behalf of the applicant
    1. ① 1 copy of each of the sponsor's resident tax (or exemption) certificate and tax payment certificate (stating total income and tax payment status for the year)
  3. 3. One letter of guarantee from a Japanese national or permanent resident
