It is acceptable to use copies of the notification forms of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare used for the regular reports.
  4. 4. One copy each of a certificate of enrollment (stating the period of enrollment), a certificate of attendance, and a transcript from the institution in which the applicant is receiving education
  5. 5. One of the following documents that proves the applicant's financial ability during their stay in Japan:
    (1) If the applicant will pay tuition and living expenses
    1. a. One copy of a bank statement of the applicant's name
    2. b. Scholarship certificate (1 copy)
    (2) If tuition fees, living expenses, etc. are paid by remittance from your home country
    1. a. One copy of a remittance receipt or a bank statement in the applicant's name (stating the fact of remittance)
    2. b. One copy of a bank statement of the remitter's name
    (3) When expenses are paid by a person residing in Japan other than the applicant
    1. a. One copy of remittance receipt or bank statement in the applicant's name (stating the fact of remittance)
    2. b. 1 copy of the sponsor's resident tax (or exemption) certificate and tax payment certificate or bank balance certificate

Points to note when preparing application documents

  1. 1. Please submit all certificates issued in Japan within the period of 3 months from issue date.
  2. 2. If the documents to be submitted are in foreign languages, please attach a translation.
